Marathon!

Aya had trained faithfully, just like she promised (and despite her period starting a few months after that promise. Really? She didn't need that!). The weights had been added by about the second month of training and she was really, really proud of her stamina!

And the marathon they'd chosen as their first was coming up this weekend, with fund raising as done by Elcy...and yeah. "Don't tell me you have to cancel!" she said into the phone, pulling one foot up to stretch out her thighs. "Don't! I can't go and do this alone!"

"And then the boards would drip blood or something and giggle at us!" Which would be bad, honestly, they'd put too much work into Monster to have to douse it in holy water or something!

"Yeah. So Monster." Dilan nodded, setting the new cards into the stack.

"It's a fun Monster." Aya agreed, sitting back on her knees to view the squares she'd filled. Looked even enough to her! "Okay! Looks like we're good!"

About halfway through the game Elcy called them down to dinner, Dilan looking at all the pieces and he said, "We should clean this up. We don't want kittens to choke on it."

"...yeeeeah," Aya admitted with a sigh. "Rematch another time!" She probably wouldn't have gotten out of M-Hell anyway!

"They're so tiny! Do you think they'd really try to eat the pieces?"

"Do we wanna risk it?" Dilan asked as he scooped pieces back into their various boxes, "Remember all the stuff Cat got into?"

"Yeah, not risking it." Braig agreed, shuddering.

"I wasn't going to risk it!" Aya denied. "I agreed putting it away was a good idea!" See? She was folding boards!

"It's just...tiny. Some of the board pieces are bigger than they are! Notably the Life spinner!

"I know, I know." Dilan ruffled her hair and finished slotting cards into boxes.

She bore up under the hair ruffling and grinned. "Yeah yeah. Anyway, food? I don't think there's anything else in here they could get into? Unless I have stuff under the bed." She wasn't sure, stuff rolled sometimes!

"Not unless you've been in here since last time I was." Dilan said, "I cleaned it."

Braig checked on the cat and her kittens, then headed downstairs.

"Hmmm, no, think you've been in since my last project!" She hooked her arm in Dilan's and grinned. "Food!" Obviously Momma and kittens were fine because Braig hadn't panicked!
