Mercenaries at the door
Sometimes a man simply had to check in on his girls. They'd run a mission in Canada and the college was ENTIRELY on the way back after all...and the team wanted to see the girls too and...
...and Nevada couldn't really shake their last letter from his head. The girls were living with some unvetted young men and that could prove problematic. The helicopter set down in on the school pad (usually used for medivac units) and Nevada swung to the ground, waving off one of the school aides coming out to greet him,
He had an address. And a mission.
And after a quick run, well, a door to knock on. The pair of mercs that had followed him chuckled at the politeness but hey, it never hurt right?

Braig sighed a little bit, "He won't touch the girls."
"...Not in the experimental way." Guess who was blithely unaware of the possible connotations there, "Sometimes they use me as a back-rest when studying."

Snickering won because of the stare!
"Menus!" Maya pointed out to distract people.
no subject
"Wait? What? What did I say?"
no subject
"You guys are kind of cute when you get protective," Maya noted to Marc and Perry. Said men just rolled there eyes and made no further comment, yep.

"I'm dating Braig." he pointed out.
Braig moved his head to the table.

"Teenage boys," Marc supplied. "And close to teenaged boys. Most would be quite happy at the idea of expanding the dating pool."
"And he should know," Perry noted. "Got him in trouble with his first boyfriend."
no subject
"I'll try to explain better when we get home, dude."
"Okay." Dilan just shook his head and looked at the menu. Social things were so weird.
no subject
"Amen," the merc chuckled.
"Remember that time we found the pair of them building sandcastles out on the shooting range?"
"Asleep in the big soup pot in the mess!"
"Going to kill you both," Maya noted cheerfully.
no subject
"No, no, tell it right. He dropped a half-eaten lizard down my shirt."

"No worse than Maya deciding that 'dressing' the chicken meant taking the raw bird to her rooms to play dolls." Nevada pointed out.
"The chicken was going to be Rambo's backup," Maya confided.

"Momma said Braig was pretty freaked out by it."
no subject
"Still, in retrospect it's kind of adorable." Aya chuckled.

"I'd like some katzu families in the company," Nevada admitted. "But we get lone hunters more than anything."
"You just want more families in general," Aya countered.
"Yeah, have to be more settled for that." Maya added.
no subject
"Families like to stay near the Clans." Braig said, with a small shrug, "It's rare to find them anywhere."
no subject
Eventually.
no subject
"That's a good idea, dude." Braig said, approvingly.

Or have the girls look into it.
The girls eyed their uncle, curious, then shrugged.
