What the doctor ordered
Dec. 30th, 2009 05:58 pmAya set down her pen and cradled her chin in her hands. She was trying very hard not to growl at her sister. Very, very hard. They'd had several bad cases in a row today and that never helped things, but now they were suppose to be winding down. The day was over, time to relax.
It wasn't working out that way.
"I know, Maya" she managed through gritted teeth. Her sister was pacing quickly back and forth across the room, a heat haze following in her wake. They were both geared up, over drive they tended to call it, a point where their cells didn't realize that the excess energy wasn't needed. It put them on edge. More than that, it made them...bitchy.
They both snarled as a knock sounded on the office door, the poor intern that stuck her head in paled when she saw the dual sets of glowing eyes fixing on her. The message was dropped just inside the door as the young woman sensibly fled. "Too much more..."
"I know" Aya snarled again, rising from her desk and tossing her lab coat on the chair behind her. She didn't want to start singeing things in their wake, she knew they needed to get out of the hospital...she just didn't need her sister telling her every few minutes! "You nag a lot Maya."
"Yeah, it's the only way you do anything!" Maya kicked open their small closet and snagged a pair of running shoes to throw at her sister, then flopped down to put her own on. "Put your damn shoes on."
Aya caught her pair and sat on the desk to do just that, muttering and cursing under her breath so they didn't end up in a full scale screaming match today. People got out of the way as the sisters stalked down the hall to the nearest exit. Fully synchronized they both pulled open a door and stepped out to toe the sidewalk, settling their shoes.
There was no starting gun. No green light flashed to signal the start, one of them simply broke off in a direction with the other following immediately. It wasn't easy to burn off the energy that could build up between them, that was why they'd started doing these running sessions. Bouncing off of walls and buildings was a lot more forgivable than tearing shreds out of all and sundry. They threw themselves off railings and over walls with single minded intensity.
It was a race sort of, the leader at the time determining random shifts in direction or the newest obstacle until a jump or shortcut put the other ahead. They were running neck and neck today, elbowing each other and ricocheting around corners a bit too fast for the treads on their shoes to handle.
Somehow a park became their final destination, and a statue the focus of their rivalry. It was a tall statue more than capable of providing nooks and crannies for the girls to launch themselves ever higher until they fought over the perch at the top. Ansem's open hand to be exact. Maya held it the longest, though both tumbled and fell down onto the grass at the statues feet as the sun finally began to set. They lay there, spent, as the stars came out and the night air dried the sweat on their faces, then finally Aya shifted enough to lay her head on her twin's shoulder "So...where are we?"
"No idea." Maya admitted tired "Got a phone?"
"Nope."
"...oops."

Date: 2011-12-15 06:08 am (UTC)They knew where they were, so when they spotted the girls flopped around on the ground it was just a, "Hey, didn't know you were in our neighbourhood."

Date: 2011-12-16 01:55 am (UTC)"Gee, thanks Sherlock." Aya chuckled, thunking her head on Maya's shoulders in lieu of poking. "We didn't know either. It was a running kind of day. Just out of curiosity, how far are we from the hospital?"

Date: 2011-12-16 02:00 am (UTC)They're all sweaty (Dilan is all sweaty. Braig only lightly sweats no matter how much he works out), and at the end of their run. Braig is breathing hard, Dilan...well. Isn't.

Date: 2011-12-16 02:23 am (UTC)"Gentlemen...the jellyfish dance." Maya giggled and started to weave her fingers and arms in much the same manner. It was a bit of tired giggling later before they remembered the question. "Yeah, sure!"

"Right." Aya nodded and hauled herself upright into a sitting position.

"And I can start supper. Glad I haven't gone shopping in over a week, everything in the house is safe for you." He suits action to words and just takes off.
Braig stares at the rapidly departing ass and remarks, "I could hate him, but that's just too beautiful a sight to loathe."

Date: 2011-12-16 09:17 am (UTC)"Wicked girl." Aya murmured to her sister, but they both just tilted their heads and watched Dilan dash off anyway. Sighing in duet? Yep! "If you hated him you'd be hard pressed to replace him." Aya noted with a grin.
"Mmmm." Was Maya helpful comment. "Shall we?" She could hook her sister's arm, and Aya could offer her other arm to Braig!

Date: 2011-12-17 07:47 am (UTC)"Only when it makes people smile," Maya sniffed primly. "And yes, your pants I think, unless we're willing to wear Dilan's shirts as dresses. The idea of rogue pants running off with us just isn't as appealing a notion as relaxing with a nice dinner."

Date: 2011-12-17 07:27 pm (UTC)"I'll get him to bring you guys some when we get back, then. If you want he'll toss your stuff into the laundry for you." pause, think, "If you turn your back on your stuff for more than five minutes he'll toss it into the laundry for you."

Date: 2011-12-18 06:34 am (UTC)"Or mine." Aya appreciated the balance aid and elbowed her sister back in revenge. A shallow, ill coordinated elbowing, but hey, hard to nudge people when elbows were being held!3

Date: 2011-12-18 08:29 am (UTC)Dilan was heading out of the shower in a (very large) towel, and his cat was sunning herself on a window-seat.
"One bathroom in here," he pointed back the way he came, "And one down the hall. Yell if you need anything that isn't in the bathrooms."

Date: 2011-12-18 09:08 am (UTC)...straight into towel clad Dilan. Well. Well well. Welcome home.
And kitty.
"We call which ever shower is bigger?" Because Maya hadn't been joking about sharing? It saved water and kept their hosts from waiting too long for them to be presentable! Aya, meanwhile, was letting Cat sniff her fingers and enjoying the show?

Date: 2011-12-18 09:09 pm (UTC)Braig grinned salaciously, "It'll fit several other people with him, too. Dude, grab them shirts and pants?" Dilan saluted Braig and headed off to get dressed and find clothing.
Cat, meanwhile gave Aya a contemplative lick and then went back to sunning.

Date: 2011-12-19 07:28 am (UTC)Aya smiled and fuzzled Cat's ears slightly before stretching and sauntering back to her sister. "Granted, the same argument could be used later for sharing a shower, but regardless, I want clean." Bye bye Braig! They could totally find the shower by following the scent of water in the direction Dilan had indicated!

"Was that doorway when you took us through the bazaar." Aya snorted. "We're fine. Comparing bruises before we heal them is kind of a...post game score card?"

"Her only weakness! Or, you know, we suck at catching things." Aya laughed and helped her sister back up from the crouch she'd slid into after getting beaned by soap.
"At least it was soap with romantic sentiment?"
