Life at Kaos U was never boring, no, far from. Their pop quizzes were 'something blew up in X hall' more than anything else. Today was Robotics over in the Farley building. Tat had an extra bit of urgency because they knew someone over there.

Thankfully Pierce was alright, angry that the idiot in the class had caused an explosion, and burned but alive. He knew to come to them instead of any of the other med students, which was best. Everyone had their pet projects after all...

...and who knew how Dilan's modifications would handle some of those pet projects?

Still Pierce got his bandages and sucker just to be amusing. He didn't think anything else of it until he was sitting down at dinner, blinking, "where are the girls?" That was a valid question, right?

The explosion had been before lunch, they should have been home by now certainly? Unless they'd planned library time (slots for that could be just as cutthroat). "They're not on call tonight, right?" at the college clinic?

"Only tonight?" Braig asked, even as Dilan came wandering up. He had some tests that were going to take a while, but staring at them wouldn't make it go any faster. "How so?"

"Apparently things related to passing are if you defeat another class mate instead of, you know, making it impossible for outside contractors to hack student work and stuff," he snorted. "Which it does not say in the syllabus but hey..."

"It's KHAOS." Braig finished Pierce's statement, nodding sagely. "Yeah, lots of things aren't in the syllabus."

Dilan said, in a considering tone, "I have a couple of rivals who keep their information on computer. Do you want to hack them?" He didn't care either way, he knew he was the best.

"Are they in computer courses?" he grinned. Hell, he'd do it for fun honestly, it's just a matter of it would count in class work as well!

There was an atonal hum for a minute, then Dilan offered a name. Just one, but there wasn't usually a lot of cross-over at the level the men were working at.

"Notttted~" Pierce sang happily. "That'll be fun for the offensive grade yes!"

"Have fun, Pierce, but don't forget to eat. You don't want me to make it so you photosynthesize." Which he would do, if he felt he had to, in order to keep his best friend healthy.

"Dude I bet that would be distracting as fuck," he blinked. "I mean, the need to lay out in the sun all day, distracted from typing..." that would just be a bad choice all around!

"Dinner's cooking right?"

"Dinner is cooking. Beef stew." Dilan agreed, "It wouldn't be only photosynthesis, it would be an addition so that you'd stay healthy as long as your computers were in a place your skin could get light. I don't think I'd let you be distracted from your work. That would be being a bad friend."

Braig looked slightly proud that Dilan recognized it would be bad friendship.

"It'd still be distracting, besides, what if goat bits wanted to eat plant skin??" That would get really bad! "But thank you anyway, i'll eat, I'll even set a timer for...how long?"

"Braig will come and get you."

"...Guess I will." Braig agreed, contently. "I'll also wake the girls up when it's time." By calling their cellphones. It was one of the safer ways to wake up people who went to KHAOS.

"Or that I guess," he agreed easily. "Sheeva's keeping her stick, she likes it. I'll increase the floor bots to handle stick bits."

"Sounds good to me." Braig agreed, ruffling Sheeva's ears and flopping down. "Let me fill you in, okay?" he started a rundown of what had happened since they left Pierce to play with satellites.

He whistled softly, amused, "so girls are shutins for now, scary mercs who feed us will be here soon to be angry at other people and give gifts?

"That about covers it, yes." Dilan agreed, checking on dinner, "Do you want anything to do with the stew?"

"Rephrase that?" Pierce blinked, "I'm not sure what you meant to say but that didn't parse right?"

"...To go with the stew. Like a salad or tin can or something."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Ah, go, not do, that would be the issue there," he noted. That helped a lot! "Mmmm, salad and some bread and those really crunchy things for salad but no cans I ate a coke can earlier."

"Bread..." Dilan considered for a moment and then went to check the freezer. One loaf of thaw-and-bake bread. Not as good as fresh, but better than nothing he supposed, "Bread we can do."

"On the salad." Braig said cheerfully, "Even I can't screw up a salad."

"As long as you don't try to make dressing."

"Yay bread! It's nice to chew bread between other things!" Pierce grinned. "SECONDING THE NO MAKING SALAD DRESSING THING!" He had a goat stomach, not immortality!

Gahhhh.

"So does this mean girls are on dish duty? I've never had the 'some were down for the count during prep' phase thing happen before!"

"...If they feel good enough, yes. Otherwise Braig will." Dilan decided, with Braig shrugging at both of them.

"Or we could do a dish bot," he mused. "I mean, he was kinda a hero tonight so he should get a night off regardless? Quick bot, he gets to kidnap you..." You know, if the girls stayed out!

"If you do a dish bot," Dilan said, "it gets tested in the lab until you're certain it won't break my dishes." otherwise things will get Very Loud. In that angry Katzu way.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Duh," he blinked. "I test house bots on eggs before test dishes actually, eggs have a use when broken."

"Okay, sounds good." Dilan hummed softly and fussed about the kitchen for a while longer, letting Braig and Pierce chat until the food was done and it was time to wake up the girls.
