Aya reached out to slap her alarm clock and pulled the covers over her head. She really didn't want to get out of bed today. The very idea of going into the courtroom scared her. Yes, she'd have to get over that eventually, but suing...suing just gave her the creeps. It felt like things were out of hand. Out of control.

She hated that feeling.

That meant she wanted to stay in bed. Sadly, she could smell coffee. And the snooze button wasn't where it was suppose to be...in fact, her alarm wasn't where it was suppose to be. "The hell?" she muttered from within the blankets.

"He does a wicked Dr. Frank-N-Furter." Aya confided, as the couple picked up speed in their exit "I'll put up flyers!" she called to the closing doors.

He pokes her, "Hey. Usually I'm Rocky."

YOU KNOW SUDDENLY THE FACT THAT ALL THE FEMALES IN THAT GROUP UNANIMOUSLY DECIDED THAT HE SHOULD RUN AROUND IN GOLD TIGHTIES MAKES MORE SENSE.

"Well, yeah, but the blond wig looks so weird." Aya shrugged. Besides, she didn't want her neighbors imagining him in a gold speedo. Nope.

YEAH...PLUS ROCKY DIDN'T HAVE TO SING.

"The college's group decided that Rocky was my species in our group." he says with a sigh.

DOES TOO. ONE SONG, ONE VERSE. HE'S GIVEN A BEER BEFORE HIS NUMBER.

"Well, that saves some of the weirdness." Aya admitted "It's cause you've got the build for it. You're doomed." cheerfully doomed but!

"They wax me." he says, sighing, "And we've got another show next week, so say good bye to my body hair."

Aya reached out to pet Dilan's arm and yes, said "Goodbye body hair." in a mournful tone. "You put up with waaaay too much sometimes."

"Yeah, well, they pay for it and I'm so going to take advantage of that come surf season."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Okay, that's fair." she admitted, holding the elevator doors "And kinda sneaky. The salon back home will be disappointed though."

"Nah." he says with a sweet smile, "They give me vouchers."

[mitochondriaaya]

"They make waxing vouchers?" that was just so weird in her mind. "Like little colored coupons?!" to have people pour hot wax on you and pull it off painfully! Who knew?!

"They make money vouchers and gift-cards." Dilan says with a laugh.

[mitochondriaaya]

She just couldn't get the idea of photocopied, colored coupons out of her mind! WEIRD! 'Okay, freezer and we're off again?" Braig would probably have the living room set up as a really cozy nest when they got back, so she wouldn't mind passing him in the hall.

"Sounds like a plan." Dilan says, grinning and dropping the movies on the couch as he headed for the kitchen.

Aya moved quickly to keep the numerous bags from sliding straight onto the floor "Or the start of one! Did any of the desserts make it okay? No dripping?"

"They're not bad. Yours are a little soft, but they'll freeze up again no problem."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Let's hear it for air conditioning." she lifted her arms in a victory cheer and held the front door open again. "Worried about what Braig will have waiting for us?"

"Nope." Dilan says, smiling, "For all his...eccentricity...he loves us."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Love does not prevent 'Night of the rabbit' or the like." she pointed out wisely, locking the door behind them soundly.

"True. But it allows us to noogie the hell out of him for it."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Him being family keeps his punishment light." she laughed, pounding down the stairs instead of taking the elevator again. She had some excess energy to get a handle on now that the trial was over...

Dilan pounds after her.

It honestly doesn't occur to him what a large man in a lab coat running after a what appears to be a child might look like.

There were reason Aya hated dressing young? It led to so many problems.

Did it help any that the man pounding after her was only a year older?

Not when he was that much bigger and looks way older!

He swoops her up and hefts her so that she can sit on his shoulder after about two blocks. Best part about being huge: she fits on his shoulder.

She'd been completely annoyed when they learned she was as wide as one of his shoulder...but she'd come to some kind of terms with it since then. It helped that it was fun. She was laughing and clinging to his head with one hand by the time they pounded into the restaurant.
