One of the disadvantages of a long term under cover operation was...falling out of physical peak. Darlene's laughable excursions to the gym prevented even decent weight runs for Aya and that meant she had to improvise. Sparring with Braig helped, a great deal, he was an excellent combatant, but no one should be expected to be a sole source of training for anyone.

It was exhausting to be frank, and they couldn't afford that level of fatigue when Kyle could stop by at any moment. And Dilan simply wasn't in her weight class at all, he couldn't help, as much as she'd be willing to try some days.

That meant...she started taking over the livingroom four days out of seven. Taking over and being grateful she was short enough that a full leg extension above her head didn't brush the ceiling. Kyle couldn't complain if he caught her dancing after all. Darlene liked dancing, and it was no stretch to believe she'd rock out at home if she couldn't justify a club outing.

It was absurdly easy to drop from actual dance poses and movements to club dance poses when a knock sounded. She wouldn't be up to competition level when this mission was through but she would be fit. And the boys were welcome to watch or join as long as they didn't stop her.

They all had their sanity maintenance needs after all.

Dilan took up holding a broom out straight for her. It could work as a bar! It gave him the excuse to watch her move, which was a nice bonus.

Aya was grateful for something, anything, like proper equipment! Only so many exercises could be done without a bar or a partner! "I think..." She noted at one point, leg high above her head and spine curved so she could nearly touch her head to her lifted knee, "...my dance teacher would die of outrage to know a broom is an acceptable substitute. Works well though."

"Gotta do what we gotta do." Dilan said cheerfully, "I'd be your bar for you, but I'm too tall for you to use my shoulder and not tall enough for you to use a leg. And my ballet experience was entirely when I was four eleven, so really no use now."

"Granted only about half of my training is straight ballet," She chuckled, switching legs. "Still, it's good for improvised. You took Ballet?" STORY TIME!

"Yup." Dilan agreed, "When I was in high school I had to take PE...and I couldn't take football because all the guys in my weight class were a foot or more taller than me. So I ended up taking ballet with the girls. It was pretty awesome."

[mitochondriaaya]

"It can be a lot of fun," she agreed with a grin. "I never got the sheer dedication for true ballet though." Woe unto her to not feel the call of the stage! WOE!

"When did you get your height? I guess I kind of figured you'd have shot up at about fourteen or so for some reason."

"Fifteen and a half. I'd been in college for about five months." Dilan explained, "Started in January, hit my growth in June."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Ouch," she chuckled and switched legs since he was going to keep holding the bar for her. "I went into college at just past sixteen, no growth spurt though. I hit short in highschool and stayed that way. Do you still keep up with any ballet or just dance in general?"

[sliceitwithwind]

"Yes, I do." Dilan admitted, "When I have the time and space, anyway. This place is way too small, I'm afraid."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Yeah, we definitely need some vaulted ceilings for you!" Aya admitted with a chuckle. "But I'd love to watch you practice some time."

[sliceitwithwind]

"Sure." Dilan agreed, "I'd enjoy showing off for you." He meant it, too.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Woot!" she cheered. "I'm glad to hear that!" She was! She'd seen how he moved when they danced together! It'd be a treat!

...

"I can be a little greedy when it comes to watching good dancers."

"Eh, I'm not as great as professionals." he said, "I'm just Katzu."

[mitochondriaaya]

"I didn't say Professional, I said Good, and you are. Don't sell yourself short." She set both feet back on the ground properly and touched his wrist in thanks to let him know she didn't need the bar anymore. Time to move from ballet stretches and poses to belly dance. It burned more energy!

And was also ridiculously easy to turn into club dance posing. "I think you'd be worth watching. Especially if you're going to show off."

"As long as you aren't expecting too much." Dilan said, crinkling his eyes with his smile as he took the bar down, "I am a terrible showoff." he agreed, "Although not as bad as Braig. He did swing for a while."

[mitochondriaaya]

"I'm expecting you to have fun and smile while dancing. How does it get better than that?" Aya grinned. "And swing was made for showing off. I could see him totally dressing up for it too."

[sliceitwithwind]

"Fair enough. Have fun, I can do." Dilan allowed, "He did. He didn't stick with it long, really, but he had a lot of fun while he did it."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Good, I like you having fun." And she did! And he was fun to talk to while she danced really! "What caught his attention away from Swing?"

"I don't even remember any more." Dilan admitted, "There was a while where he was just going through and trying lots of different hobbies one after another."

[mitochondriaaya]

"That's alright, I know a lot of people were like that in highschool and college." She stepped away, slowly increasing the motion of her hips as she worked. "One of my best friends actually. She may still be like that in fact, last thing I heard she was big into pilates and paint ball."

[sliceitwithwind]

"Uh huh..." Dilan agreed, eyes fastened to her hips. "Braig still is a little."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Well, if I ever introduce him to a hobby I'm duly warned that he might flitter off again." She chuckled softly, amused at the idea. "And your hobbies?"

[sliceitwithwind]

"I like to read, I like to dance, I love martial arts." Dilan said, "I'm a terrible knitter, but I enjoy trying."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Oh, ouch, knitting. I don't understand how I get teh tangled messes I do..." she laughed and flashed him a grin. "What do you like reading aside from what's wandered in here?" Because she totally shared the other two loves.

"I know, right?" Dilan said, laughing, "It starts out fine, and then it all just goes insane somehow and I don't know what I've done! I like reading medical journals, actually. I don't understand most of it, but it's fascinating."
