"Go! MOVE MOVE MOVE MAYA! Grab the bags!" Aya laughed, pounding through the door to the house with barely a pause to identify for security.

"I'm moving! I am! You...keep watch."

Aya nodded and spun once her sister was past, going to a knee to check her shoe laces and...watching the route behind them. They'd gotten the weird 'being followed' vibe again so, a bit of watching while Maya loaded up. "Anyone home?" she called while waiting, getting an excited bark from Sheeva.

Yes, Sheeva was a good dog.

"You're sweet," Aya chuckled softly. She appreciated it though. "It's a little harder to tell the threats from the civvies here."

"Sometimes you're very confusing." Why call him sweet? So confused! "We'll do that before you get home so we can let you know what the threat level is."

"When people worry above and beyond what most consider necessary it's sweet," Aya noted. She'd been living with him long enough to understand information was necessary sometimes! "And thanks. If it's too bad come get us?"

"Promise." Dilan said gravely, "Be careful."

"Always," Aya promised with smile as her sister came back down the stairs with their full kits. "And we'll probably get to do some transfusions tonight..." and have a watchful Sheeva!

"Mares memorizing the student body bloodtypes applicable!" Maya laughed. "Ohhh, Sheeva!"

Sheeva danced for Maya happily, and Dilan smiled at the three of them, "Okay. I'll come get you if we need to. Be careful."

"Alright, yay? Fill me in," Maya demanded of her sister.

"Checking on possible follower!" She laughed as she held the door again. "Sheeva, guard." and off they went!

Several hours later Dilan was rocking back and forth on his heels slowly, waiting for the girls to finish up. His expression was a mild, slightly distracted smile. The one that usually meant he knew that it was okay to do terrible, terrible things to someone and he wouldn't get in trouble.

Both of the girls at random intervals had offered him distracted 'hellos' but yeah, distracted. It was a war zone it seemed, with people in costumes screaming at each other across a thin line of lawn...and every time they worked up their nerve there was another wave of violence.

So far no one was dead? They'd hated having to do a ham handed cauterization though. That had lacked finesse. Eventually though, Sheeva ended up with her teeth in someone who mistook the girls for 'girlfriends of' and they started packing up.

"Hi." Dilan said casually when they finally finished, "I brought you coats. You should wear them with the hoods up." Nice, flat grey goats weighted in such a way as to suggest an additional layer of kevlar all the way to their ankles...and their heads. "We didn't like what we saw. You're being stalked. I'm going to be fixing it."

"Okay," they spoke in tandem, too in synch from working together to stop now. "Stalked stalked? Like a psycho?" Really?

Stalking the merc girls?!

"Well, at least we're not crazy," even if they looked like kevlar acolytes now.

"Stalked stalked." Dilan agreed cheerfully, "I'll be going with you to classes for a while. Except your econ, I have lab then. Pierce'll be going there. There are several faces, they keep rotating. Stupid. Probably PE or Religion."

"A group of psychos. Wow." Aya was...yeah, vaguely impressed.

"We do not tell Nevada," Maya decided, one hand on Sheeva's back as they walked.

"Uh huh." Dilan agreed, smiling happily, "That means they're free game. We take care of ours."

"I almost feel sorry them," Maya murmured after looking up at Dilan. "Maybe."

"I don't. Life here's complicated enough without crazier things. We should switch out our darts too..." Dilan wanted to help them with neurotoxins anyway!

"I have ideas for darts." Dilan said cheerfully, "You'd have to be careful, though, and wear gloves when handling them."

"What kind of darts?" they asked together. They weren't going to hook their arms in his, not when they all might have to move in unexpected ways, but the cheerful note was there!

"Mutanegenic." Dilan chirped, in much the same tone he used for the new season of MLP. "I think I've managed to isolate that third-leg issue, so they ought to just turn into regular lizards."

"Into regular giant lizards?" Aya asked, curious.

"Or do they consume mass in transformation?" Maya added.

"I'm still working on that." Dilan admitted, "Right now they lose about 60% of their mass burning up. I'm not sure if I want to go up or down."

[mitochondriaaya]

"So...still pretty big lizards," Aya mused. "Will they retain any of their sentience?" Because stalkers that could climb walls was kind of creepy.

"No. The trauma lobotomizes them." Dilan said, "And they're still dying inside a week."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Hmmm, well..." Aya noted thoughtfully.

"Can't think of nicer people to continue testing them on," Maya snorted.

"We don't like being followed."

"I don't like you being followed either." Dilan admitted, "You should be protected. Braig is making a schedule so we can stay with you to and from classes."
