What: Religious studies get a touch out of hand.

Life at Kaos U was never boring, no, far from. Their pop quizzes were 'something blew up in X hall' more than anything else. Today was Robotics over in the Farley building. Tat had an extra bit of urgency because they knew someone over there.

Thankfully Pierce was alright, angry that the idiot in the class had caused an explosion, and burned but alive. He knew to come to them instead of any of the other med students, which was best. Everyone had their pet projects after all...

...and who knew how Dilan's modifications would handle some of those pet projects?

Still Pierce got his bandages and sucker just to be amusing. He didn't think anything else of it until he was sitting down at dinner, blinking, "where are the girls?" That was a valid question, right?

The explosion had been before lunch, they should have been home by now certainly? Unless they'd planned library time (slots for that could be just as cutthroat). "They're not on call tonight, right?" at the college clinic?

Maya flopped a bit more hug like against him? "Takes two of us to keep up with most the geniuses we know though, so there's that?"

Dilan hugged her back, gently, "You aren't judging yourself against me, are you?" he asked with a little bit of worry.

"Sometimes! But that's normal with people we like in a wider social sense I think? Want to make sure we stand up to people we like so they don't feel obligated to be around us instead of just enjoying our company? That maaaaay not make sense."

"It didn't." Dilan admitted, "You still shouldn't judge against me. I'm unique."

"Different ideas of judging and measuring I think," Maya admitted. "You're unique, yes, you're also our friend and we want to be engaging to you like you are to us?"

"I like you because you are you." Dilan informed her simply, "You don't have to try to be likable. You just are."

"When he's right, he's right." Braig agreed.

She...would throw her hands in the air if her arms weren't jelly? Yeah. "Not getting what I'm saying, either of you," she grumbled, a touc grumpy AND loopy now!

"...stop trying," Aya wheezed.

Dilan's mouth twisted in bemused agreement with Aya. They should probably all stop trying, for the moment. The two men finished getting the two women to the house and Dilan settled Maya on the couch with a brief touch of lips to hair. He remembered his and Braig's mothers doing that when one or the other of the boys had been hurt, so was trying to give the same kind of comfort.

Braig helped Aya over to the same couch, but did not give her a kiss on the hair. There were things that Dilan could get away with because he was Dilan that Braig simply couldn't.

"Beef stew." Dilan informed Braig, "I'm going to use the pressure cooker to get the beef started while I chop the rest of the things for it. Could you get coffee going?"

"Yeah, dude, I can get coffee started. You two?" that was to the twins.

"Coffee sounds great," Maya admitted. "Enough milk to cool it and drink with a straw?" Rather than trust her hands not to shake?

"Blehhh, no coffee for me. Throat hurts," from coughing, yup. "Cough drops?" Cough drops were like drinks right? Sure!

Braig got the coffee started and went to get cough drops for Aya.

"So." he said, "What do you want to do next, ladies? Besides calling Nevada. One of you should do that now."

"Analyze what dropped us, test against it, see if we got the lucky flip that means we're immune now, maybe do public denouncements to shatter any lingering cult beliefs, don't know, need to think about that angle," Maya hummed thoughtfully.

"Run faces, see if anyone looks familiar as having had classes or the like with us..." Aya added hoarsely, passing Maya her phone. "Break in new gear." Ugh.

"I'll start analysis as soon as the food is cooking." Dilan said cheerfully. All of them were safe, it was fine to go into SCIENCE!! mode. (Three exclamation points were only for times none of them were hurt.)

"Let me know if you want help writing a denouncement." Braig tossed Aya the cough drops and plopped into a chair even as he spoke, listening to the coffee pot so he could get his roommate her coffee as soon as it was ready. "I don't think you need my help, but it's there if you want it."

"We can help run swabs and such, need to make sure our weird biology won't decide it's addicted or something too." Which was always a risk with mass application drugging. They'd had some really weird reactions to mustard gas after all.

"Hmmm, we'll bounce off you? Make sure it's not going to seem like a challenge to the theology students?" Because they did try to not start wars?

"You can run all of your standard tests." Dilan agreed, easily, "I'll run my tests for the sort of thing I work on." They did have different specialties, after all.

"Sounds like a plan." Braig basically thought if it sounds like something I'd say, it probably will sound like a challenge. He knew his ego.

"Thanks, just making sure," she smiled over the couch at him. "People get a little..." eh. Pushy? Babying? When they were injured like this?

"Not normal people," Aya reminded her sister with an elbow.

"I know they're not but!"

"I am not a medical student." was his simple, response, "I'll do what I do best, and let you do you."

Braig snickered and went to get Maya's coffee, handing it over and ruffling both blonde heads.

"You'd be surprised how many people assume otherwise sometimes," they snorted, which set Aya coughing again. Bleh. "Get hurt and suddenly everyone else is a medical professional."

Silly people.

Dilan turned from the kitchen to give them a sweet smile that said better than any words I'm not most people. Braig's rather less sweet one said pretty much the same thing.

"Braig, could you get hair, blood, and saliva samples for me while I do this?" Dilan asked, "Unless you two would prefer to take them from each other? Although Braig should still get my kit, you two should rest."

Nope, not most people in the least.

"Better Braig does it, I'm still jelly, I'd poke Aya in the eye or something, then she'd cough and I'd lose more hair than I want and..." yeah. That was just a bad time waiting to happen.

"Got it." Braig went down to Dilan's lab to grab the kit and take the samples while Dilan finished getting the stew started.

"Don't do that." Dilan's voice was amused, he actually got the joke for once, "You both have beautiful eyes and hair."

"We'd never do it on purpose!" Maya assured, amused. "Ever, you'd be so sad and that would be devastating!"

"I would be." he agreed, "I wouldn't want to try regrowing your eyes, even, because I'd worry about your idiosyncratic reaction to things."

"We'll try not to lose eyes ever because that would just get creepy for everyone." From losing an eye, to eyes in jars in Dilan's labs and yes! "So no jelly limbed sample taking is a household rule!"

"I'll add it to the list." Dilan agreed. Because of course he had the house rules in a list. In a binder, colour-coded as made sense to the mad biologist.

"Yay more rules," Maya giggled softly. "We're making a positive influence on the world!" Or something. Histamine reactions could lead to silliness!
