This is...Halloween?

Usually bumping and screaming from the back bedroom of a young girl was a sign for worry. In this case? well, it was common place. It probably would inspire some worry, if anyone besides the room residents were around. Luckily (commonly) the three kids were alone in the house. "BRAIG YOU'RE PULLING! THAT'S ATTACHED!!"

She'd woken up at her usual early hour, but the boys had already been standing at her door by the time she'd pulled it open to go find them. Standing at her door and grinning, which was never a good sign.

And they had bags.

Of stuff.

She hadn't gotten a good look at any of it as they all bustled back to her room for pre-Halloween prep. All she knew at the moment, in fact, was that Braig was still grinning. And Dilan was...laughing? She wasn't sure what those noises behind her were, and she couldn't turn around with Braig's hands in her hair and something cool and wet dripping onto her ears. "IF MY HAIR TURNS GREEN I WILL KICK YOU BOTH!"

"Do you want a last name today? You can if you want, I guess."

It's kinda cool having people who look like siblings around.

"I dunno, I don't use it much." she admitted as she came back in the room. Aya bopped up to the boys and draped her arms over their shoulders, grinning "I bet this stuff sticks! We can totally look like this at school tomorrow! That'd be great!"

Dilan grins and wraps his arm around her, "That'd be cool."

"Yes!' she agreed, taking the glass Braig handed her and twirling it a bit haltingly by it's stem. "I believe this shall be the start of a wonderful week!"

....

"WAIT! Trick or treat bags!"

Dilan pulls them out of his pocket, grinning, "They fold down really small. Here we go!"

She juggling things a moment, figuring out the easiest way to carry both the bag and glass. The...still empty glass. "Hey, where's the juice? How much are we bringing? And we need shoes!"

"It's in the bag, and we're gonna wear our regular shoes so we don't get hurt feet." Dilan heads into the bag again and pulls out the juice. "Gonna put this in my bag." He grins.

She snaked a hand out to pick up the juice a moment with a small 'Oof'. "Yeah, you can do that! It'll get lighter but it's heavy right now!" she admitted cheerfully. "Okay, so, we're ready to go?"

"Yup!" another chorus from the boys, "Come on, my dear!"

"The door, darlings." she drawled, then hooked her arms with the boys. "Let's go make an entrance!"

Dilan grins while Braig opens the door and heads out towards the appropriate street.

They passed witches and animals, and knights with princesses...and just about everything under the sun. But? They were unique. The first house took a bit of fumbling as they coordinated for a pose...

The look on the adults faces when asked what they were was priceless though. Not many kids went around cheerfully saying they were a love triangle!

Years down the road they might facepalm.

Aya might facepalm. For the boys...well. Triangles were not nearly as complex as some of what they got down to.

Dilan gets...louder, and more bouncy with every glass of kiwi juice. He's vibrating.

Aya would, because she'd grow up with the community already accepting that she was part of one.

About halfway through their route Aya seriously contemplated drinking the next glass herself. Dilan was going explode...or something...

Yep. She could sneakily toss it back right?

"Hey!" pouting Dilan is pouting! Horribly!

[mitochondriaaya]

"You're gonna crack your teeth with all the shaking!" Aya pointed out after the cup was drained. Kiwi juice was weird! But, she could totally handle it in a good cause! "And you'll spill if you keep shaking like that!! You gotta...I dunno, get rid of some of the energy first?"

"Fi-iiiiiiiiiine." His bag is thrust at Aya and Dilan starts, quite literally, running circles around his friends.

Around and around and around he goes? Aya gave up on carrying Dilan's bag and juice and shoved the lot into Braig's hands so she could...walk...straight.

"DILAN! She yeeped at last, pausing to lean against a fence "STOP THE CIRCLES! YOU MAKING ME DIZZY!! DO...lines?"

"Fine!" lines it is. Ahead of them and behind them and ahead of them and behind them again....

That was a lot easier on Aya. It made the other trick-or-treaters look at them funny, but that was nothing new! "House!" Aya announced, letting Dilan catch up again.

Her glass was only a quarter filled this time.

Dilan takes his place and grins up at the grown-ups.

And weren't they cute? Hold still, there was a camera around here somewhere...

No, really, hold still.

Dilan. Still? Please?

For grapes?

Dilan does his best to vibrate in place instead of bounce all over the neighbourhood, at least long enough for pictures.

The grapes were sealed in a baggie and put deep in Dilan's bag...with the vague hope he might not eat them until tomorrow, then the couple were cooing over the next group coming up. Aya looked between the boys then poked Braig "Maybe we should do something else? We've got a lot of candy..."

"Nah." Braig says, "We need to get enough to hoard it for later. Besides, he's gonna be twitchy all night and we might as well wear him out first."
