Oh those lovely lawsuits

Aya reached out to slap her alarm clock and pulled the covers over her head. She really didn't want to get out of bed today. The very idea of going into the courtroom scared her. Yes, she'd have to get over that eventually, but suing...suing just gave her the creeps. It felt like things were out of hand. Out of control.

She hated that feeling.

That meant she wanted to stay in bed. Sadly, she could smell coffee. And the snooze button wasn't where it was suppose to be...in fact, her alarm wasn't where it was suppose to be. "The hell?" she muttered from within the blankets.

"No, you're not. Get dressed, Aya. I will, too." In more than his hakama and tank-top.

"Okaaaay." she sighed and kicked her feet going down the hall, but she went. The dress she came out in was blue that shaded to midnight at the bottom with little roses, also shading, scattered along it. It was a very pretty dress...

...and she knew it made her look twelve. That was why she tended to hate it. Deeply. It went against her nature to try to look childish. "I HATE THIS!" she yelled down the hallway, just to lodge the complaint.

"I DON'T CARE!" he yells back, just as maturely. Dilan staggers down to her room after a bit, "Do my tie." he still can't manage on his own.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Do my ties!" she countered. Her dress had a cross-tie thing starting at the back of the shoulders. Probably to emphasize a chest she didn't have much of yet. "I thought you were going to switch to clip ons?" she teased, reaching up to do the knot.

"I wanted to, but apparently I can't." He says with a soft sigh. Her dress is done up, then he bends down again.

"It's a rule?" she asked, surprised. "Do they not look good enough or something?" she was pretty good at ties, so it only took a moment for her to get it done. "Hair?"

"Yeah. That's what they say." Stupid rules. "Hair. Up for you, down and back for me." a pony-tail rather than a top-knot.

He looks like a mobster until he puts his coat on.

[mitochondriaaya]

"That's just stupid." she agreed, tweaking his nose before padding back down the hall to find hair clips. "It's not like anyone is going to check..." when she came back she had her hair clipped back over her ears, an adorable smile on her face, and...a camera.

"I know, I know." he sighs and nods, "That's good, hon. You look very young."

[mitochondriaaya]

She snapped a picture of him, then set the camera aside "I don't want to. I hate it when I look like a kid." she pouted, which really didn't help dispel the image any.

"I know, I know." he says, "But you'll always be beautiful to me."

[mitochondriaaya]

"That's reassuring except for the fact anyone that asks me out will be a pedophile." she wrinkled her nose in the classic 'eww' face. "I do want to date you know."

Dilan grins, sharp and a hint mean, "Oh, no. No pedophiles will ask you out. Braig and I would kill them."

[mitochondriaaya]

"And then I'm back to the not dating thing." she poked Dilan's belly and shook her head. "I can't win!"

"I can set you up with some guys, if you want." he says, a little dubiously.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Because the brothers of your girlfriends always go over well." she rolled her eyes. "No. Thanks. I'll figure something out, maybe join a club or something."

"...I was thinking undergrads in my classes."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Somehow that sounds weirder. Besides, how do you get them to go out with me without either playing favorites or punishing them?" it'd be seen as one or the other! And either way they'd want something from Dilan!

He shrugs a little, "Yeah, point. I don't know, I just worry."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Dating is worrisome! I'm not looking to build a harem or anything, and I'll screw up, sure, but I'll be okay, promise. I just...need to dress a little older most days." she wrinkled her nose again and tugged at her skirt. "I'm babbling aren't I?"

"Little bit." he admits, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and giving her a squeeze.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Blehhhhhh" she stretched her arms and shoulders, tying to dispel the tension. "How long until court?" she was going to drive them both crazy before then.

"About three hours. Braig will get here to pick us up. He got a car for the day." Dilan frowns a bit, "Want to beat me at poker for a while?"

[mitochondriaaya]

"Oh, we're pulling out all the stops. How much you want to bet the car's black and ominous?" she tried to smile and ended up kind of grimacing. "Poker's too easy with two people."

"Dunno." Dilan says, shrugging, "It's Braig. And, to be fair, poker is too easy with me, no matter what."
