Oh those lovely lawsuits

Aya reached out to slap her alarm clock and pulled the covers over her head. She really didn't want to get out of bed today. The very idea of going into the courtroom scared her. Yes, she'd have to get over that eventually, but suing...suing just gave her the creeps. It felt like things were out of hand. Out of control.

She hated that feeling.

That meant she wanted to stay in bed. Sadly, she could smell coffee. And the snooze button wasn't where it was suppose to be...in fact, her alarm wasn't where it was suppose to be. "The hell?" she muttered from within the blankets.

"Oh, well, sure, pull the Dad info out..." she bumped him with her hip and accepted one of the bags of movies (they needed a few this time) "I'll try to live up to my end of it so there."

He laughs and bumps her back before heading out towards the car, "Good. I wouldn't know what to do if you changed...and Dilan would, like, lose it."

"Yeah, you'd handle it better, eventually, than Dilan." she admitted "I'm too stubborn to change though, so you guys are safe."

"Awesome." Braig grins and opens the car, "See? I'm not dead. Now shift over, big guy, gotta put the vids in there."

Dilan eyes them, then his beautiful blues widen, "Space and Ice, did you get everything?"

"Or he might be dead and too stubborn to admit it!" Aya admitted cheerfully as she crawled in "He had the pretty new clerk following him around carrying stuff he was getting..."

"She was pretty." Braig agrees, "But mostly it was 'cause I ran out of hands. Any other things you, like, wanna do before we go home?"

Dilan just shakes his head and pulls Aya close.

"If we stop anywhere else, with our tendency to take our time, all your ice cream will melt." when in doubt threaten Braig's sweets?

"Home it is! Good thing our luggage is already in the car." he heads out, humming contently at the thought of his dessert.

Dessert that was totally going to have to be eaten the moment they got home...it was very hot for a September, and she didn't want to drink her brownie sundae. "Any thoughts on real food or we closing our eyes and pointing in the phonebook?"

"I," Dilan says, "am ordering from that noodle place on fourth. The one with the lemon-cilantro chicken."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Then we'll all order from there. It keeps down the delivery collisions." they'd had spilled pizza and greek at the door before. It hadn't been pretty. Scrubbing the doorstep had taken a good half of Dilan's favored cleaners too.

"Works." Dilan says, smug at getting his way. Braig laughs and waves his hands, "Aya, you know what I like. I'll get the ice cream back in the freezer and set up the movies."

"Is this you kicking us out of the car?" she grinned and eyed the upcoming stop light.

"This is me giving you your marching orders when we get home." Braig says happily.

[mitochondriaaya]

"But I worked so hard for that apartment!" she mock-whined, leaned over to kiss Braig's cheek. It would totally be a shorter walk if they bailed out now...

He laughs and says, "Do you want to hop out? I can park and catch up."

[mitochondriaaya]

"No, you don't get to park, ice cream will melt!' she pointed out. "Dilan?" she'd leave it up to him...he'd be carrying more on the walk home.

Dilan just laughs, "I'll get the ice cream and the movies, you get the door open, and you go park."

[mitochondriaaya]

"A plan!" she grinned and popped out of the car, pulling open Dilan's with a grin. She could do doors!

Dilan hops out with his tasks and heads for Aya's with ground-eating strides, "Run, monkey!"

"Ack!" she said succinctly before dashing ahead of Dilan for the complex door. "You and your stupid long legs!"

"You love my long legs! They get us to the front of lines more than short oens."

[mitochondriaaya]

"And 'cause you're sexy in heels." she laughed, then laughed more at the middle aged couple coming out of her apartment complex that caught the comment. "One of us has to be, Braig and I don't quite pull it off."

"Well, yeah." Dilan smiles sweetly at the couple and says, "Theatre minor." completely straight-faced.

[mitochondriaaya]

"He does a wicked Dr. Frank-N-Furter." Aya confided, as the couple picked up speed in their exit "I'll put up flyers!" she called to the closing doors.
