Oh those lovely lawsuits

Aya reached out to slap her alarm clock and pulled the covers over her head. She really didn't want to get out of bed today. The very idea of going into the courtroom scared her. Yes, she'd have to get over that eventually, but suing...suing just gave her the creeps. It felt like things were out of hand. Out of control.

She hated that feeling.

That meant she wanted to stay in bed. Sadly, she could smell coffee. And the snooze button wasn't where it was suppose to be...in fact, her alarm wasn't where it was suppose to be. "The hell?" she muttered from within the blankets.

"That is your purpose in life. To be loved."

"...you'd think I'd know if that was my purpose. I wouldn't need to do anything else with myself." like help people. That was a need. It was kinda hard to explain.

"Maybe." Dilan says, shrugging a little, "If so, well...that's something only you can really decide."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Only I can decide if I need to do anything else with myself? Doesn't that kinda negate the 'purpose/destiny' thing?" she didn't know whether to be confused just entertained by the turn this was taking. "And if I'm only here to be loved should I go for teen idol or something?"

"Aya, I don't believe in destiny." Dilan says simply, "I believe in what I know. I know you're special, and Braig and I are special. I know that I've found my life path, and a lot of it involves following you and Braig around and helping you. But some destiny out of our hands? Honestly, I wouldn't want to live in a world like that."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Then don't try to tell me I've got a purpose in life until I at least get a Bachelors." she countered with a grin. 'You can follow Braig around, I'm going back home to take of it until you guys go back!"

"You started it, monkey." Dilan points out, leaning back, "And I'm going to follow both of you around. You'll just have to suffer through my love and adoration. For now, though, go get the short one."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Heh...my own fanclub. Wow." she turned around in the seat to grin at him "Is it my turn to rescue him from the Foreign Film section?"

"Yup. I got him last time, remember? He had a cold?"

"Oh yeah, we ended up with those really weird psi-horrors that were really film student project pieces right?" she'd tried to forget that. She'd tried REALLY HARD. "Okay, back in a minute." or how ever long it took to drag Braig out.

...she couldn't even see in their usual sections. That was ominous.

"Yeahhhh." Dilan agrees.

Braig is actually almost done. He's got a stack of videos almost as high as the distance from thigh to waist on Dilan, a clerk following him around, and he's contemplating a last two.

"Hey, Aya. Alien intelligence bent on killing off my species and leaving yours alone, or pandemic that leaves Dilan's kind alone and kills pretty much everything else on the world?"

Aya eyed the stack of videos for a moment "...are you moving in or something?" she teased. After all, there were only so many hours in the day! "Do either of them do the weird political or religious message?"

Braig snorts and says, "What? You think I'm over-estimating this weekend? Besides, you know we'll end up turning some of them off and starting something else. Uh...I can't tell." He frowns at them, "Lets get both and turn 'em off if we don't like 'em."

"I think you're over estimating a week she laughed and picked up some popcorn on the way to the register "But that's one of the things we love about you so it's fine."

Braig laughs at her and shakes his head.

"Don't grab that crap, I brought some of the non-salty, non-buttery stove-pop kind in my suitcase. We can make Dilan make us some of the real stuff and make all kinds of popcorn."

At the idea of real popcorn she dropped the microwave bag like it was on fire...then picked it back up and put it away of course. "You planned ahead for a movie marathon? I'm beginning to suspect a conspiracy." she chuckled and watched the clerk trying to gt all the movies scanned without toppling the stack.

"Nah. That'd take Dilan being involved in it as well. This was all me." Braig grins at her, "This was alllllll me."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Fair enough. You already know you're a genius, so I don't have to say it." but she was absolutely delighted by the forethought. Braig was used to having random, clingy hugs from Aya right? Right.

He is, and hugs her back hard. His face presses against her hair and he rocks a little.

She squeaked a little when the hug got a little too tight, but otherwise she was grateful. "Sorry I worried you and all."

"Bah. That's what little sisters do. I have it on good authority."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Whose authority?" she asked curiously. She really didn't think he'd be taking the word of his undergrads or anything...

"Dilan's going to wonder if we lost our wallets soon."

[sliceitwithwind]

"Dad's. He's got one." Braig points out, heading for the front, "She just lives on the other side of the country and is crap at keeping in contact."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Oh, well, sure, pull the Dad info out..." she bumped him with her hip and accepted one of the bags of movies (they needed a few this time) "I'll try to live up to my end of it so there."

He laughs and bumps her back before heading out towards the car, "Good. I wouldn't know what to do if you changed...and Dilan would, like, lose it."
