Oh those lovely lawsuits

Aya reached out to slap her alarm clock and pulled the covers over her head. She really didn't want to get out of bed today. The very idea of going into the courtroom scared her. Yes, she'd have to get over that eventually, but suing...suing just gave her the creeps. It felt like things were out of hand. Out of control.

She hated that feeling.

That meant she wanted to stay in bed. Sadly, she could smell coffee. And the snooze button wasn't where it was suppose to be...in fact, her alarm wasn't where it was suppose to be. "The hell?" she muttered from within the blankets.

"Still would have been fun to guess." she was...eating all the blueberries. That counted as eating right? She'd start in on the bacon after the fruit. "Hey Dilan? Do you think...we're doing the right thing?"

"As opposed to doing nothing?" he asks, sobering, "Eat the muffin, not just the berries."

"...could have just broken her other arm." she grumped, shuffling the muffin bits into a pile "I mean, by accident or something. I wasn't going to hunt her down."

"No, Aya." he says quietly, "This is the best resort."

[mitochondriaaya]

"But it's..." she started poking at her bacon instead of looking at him "...feels like fighting dirty. I hate going at things sideways."

[sliceitwithwind]

"Aya..." he sighs, "This is the legal way to do it."

[mitochondriaaya]

"I know" she slumped in her seat and put her feet in Dilan's lap under the table "It just seems like such a stupid reason to go to court! It's...a spoiled bitch. Legal systems shouldn't be tied up with that. And I just want to hit her." she was at least honest!

"Look at it this way, monkey...you'll be hitting her where it hurts, in her reputation."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Only because you told me to." She admitted. "Yeah, it'll hurt her but...it's a lot less satisfying." and she had to get all dressed up. "You're wearing a suit right?"

"Mmm. Yes and no. We're wearing suits and lab coats. It makes me look less like someone who breaks knees for a living."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Oh, LAB MONKIES!" she broke out giggling and finally started on the crumbled remains of her muffin. "Sitting in the front row looking at me when I'm on the stand..."

"Supporting you!" Dilan says, wounded, "I mean, we do look like thugs otherwise! Me more than Braig, but still!"

[mitochondriaaya]

"You're the most brilliant thug I know!" she was ever supportive! "Less violent than Braig and I though...odd that. Can I take pictures?"

"...Thanks, Aya." Dilan says, tossing his napkin at her face. He's still not used to being so...big. Intimidating. Big. "Yeah, if you want. Should I shave?" he rubs his sideburns, not his chin. His chin is always shaved.

She squeaked and almost ducked the napkin. She didn't think he was intimidating! He was...Dilan. "No way! Do you know how many of your fanclub members would kill me if I asked you to shave?" she dragged her feet out of his lap so she could lean across the table and fuzzle his cheeks.

"Tell me I don't really have a fanclub. Please." That'd be just weird. It's okay for the girlfriends to like him, but...weird.

[mitochondriaaya]

"How do you not know that?" she blinked "They kinda follow you around, usually go out of their way to ask you little things?" she prompted. Maybe she only noticed because she was a girl?

"You're one of the hottest things at your campus, paired with Braig and it's pretty much a given that you've got a club."

"...I thought they were undergrads." he says slowly, tilting his head, "I mean. They're not the girlfriends."

He likes girls. He likes having many girlfriends. He's very DEDICATED to his girlfriends and doesn't look past them.

[mitochondriaaya]

"No, they're you're fanclub. I've been cornered and grilled about you both before..." she was falling back into giggles "...most of them want to know what 'makes the grade' and all that."

[sliceitwithwind]

"That is so weird. So very, very weird." he says, bemused as all get out.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Not that weird Dilan. Deep breaths..." she fuzzled his cheeks again then triumphantly showed him her clean plate. "You're just hot. It happens."

He breathes deeply for a moment, then says, "Girls are weird."

[mitochondriaaya]

'Well, yeah, you should already know that." she pointed out. After all, he had her, and a passel of girlfriends. "Do you think Braig knows?"

"With his ego? Yeah, I'm sure of it." Dilan says, laughing softly and shaking his head.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Bet he charges for signatures...or stuff you guys have owned..." she grinned and went to wash her plate. "Missing any pencils lately? Or hair bands or...?"
