Oh those lovely lawsuits

Aya reached out to slap her alarm clock and pulled the covers over her head. She really didn't want to get out of bed today. The very idea of going into the courtroom scared her. Yes, she'd have to get over that eventually, but suing...suing just gave her the creeps. It felt like things were out of hand. Out of control.

She hated that feeling.

That meant she wanted to stay in bed. Sadly, she could smell coffee. And the snooze button wasn't where it was suppose to be...in fact, her alarm wasn't where it was suppose to be. "The hell?" she muttered from within the blankets.

"Why would you do that?" she blinked "Are the girlfriends coming?" because that was a good reason for them to get a hotel room, but otherwise, her earlier words aside, they could stay here!

"Because we miss our monkey. And no, they're not. It's just the terrible threes, you know?"

[mitochondriaaya]

"I meant about the hotel room!" she grinned at him over the game box "You can stay here, you know that."

[sliceitwithwind]

"Awesome. We just don't want to be a pain, you know?"

[mitochondriaaya]

"You wouldn't have keys if you guys were a pain." she countered, set up the board "You want to be the Top Hat?" there weren't many choices, this was the board that had haunted the trio most their lives...

"Either the Top Hat or the button." he'd put that in last time.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Shiny blue button it is." She passed him his piece and started sorting money. At some point during the years someone had painstakingly written new denominations on every piece of money. She couldn't remember why at the moment. "You really were going to be a dork and rent a hotel room weren't you?"

"...Well, yeah." he admits, laughing softly, "Of course we were."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Dork" she tossed one of the die at his head and snapped her teeth at him. "I'd have hunted you two down and poked you or something."

[sliceitwithwind]

"Love you." he says, laughing and catching the die.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Like that makes it all better." she snorted. It did, of course, but she had to be stubborn! "Promise me you won't consider a hotel room ever again without good reason."

[sliceitwithwind]

"Promise." he makes no promises for Braig, however.

[mitochondriaaya]

Well, she'd corner Braig about it too, probably in the car. "Good. No point in me having all this room if no one uses it!" he got another snapping of teeth before she rolled and bought the Bog of Stench.

They'd had a lot of fun with markers when they were younger.

He laughs and rolls as well, letting himself get lost in the game for the next few hours.

She didn't get quite as lost, growing more and more fidgety as the hours passed, but eventually Braig knocked on the door. Aya popped up like she was on strings to yank the door open for him "It's noon already?!"

"Yeah." says the short man, reaching around her for a hug. He's also in suit and lab coat, "Come on, sweetheart, lets go."

Dilan packs the game up before following.

"My other hero" Aya greeted, and she wasn't ashamed to admit that her hug was more of a cling than anything else Braig scooped her out the door. As proof of her distracted state...she left her small purse with her wallet, house keys, and student ID tucked safely on the couch as she went out. "Dilan mentioned you actually thought about getting a hotel room. Shame on you."

Dilan grabs the purse and slings it over his shoulder as they head out. Braig keeps his arm around her waist as they head down.

It is not a limo, it's a BMW. Dark blue. Very classy. "Well, you know. Just in case you wanted private time."

To do her credit, she didn't balk at all, stepping up into the car. "That's just dumb Braig, and you know it." she scooted over to let Dilan in. "Promise me you won't think something like that again."

"Nope." Braig says, slipping into the driver's seat. Dilan holds open the back door for Aya, and slides in next to her. "Always going to make the offer, always going to let you slap me for it."

Dilan just grins.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Masochist" Aya snorted and swatted the back of Braig's head around the head rest. "You're going to deserve it every time."

[sliceitwithwind]

"Maybe so." he says, "But you'll have the option of privacy."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Yeah, not really seeing a situation where I'll need it." she snorted and leaned back to strap in. "Drive Raoul!"

"Onwards, m'lady." Braig agrees. Dilan slips his hand over Aya's and murmurs, "It'll be fine, love."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Or we'll fail utterly and I'll end up in jail somehow." she knew that wasn't possible at all, but...but! Yes, she was back to tense. "You guys will visit right?"
