Marathon!

Aya had trained faithfully, just like she promised (and despite her period starting a few months after that promise. Really? She didn't need that!). The weights had been added by about the second month of training and she was really, really proud of her stamina!

And the marathon they'd chosen as their first was coming up this weekend, with fund raising as done by Elcy...and yeah. "Don't tell me you have to cancel!" she said into the phone, pulling one foot up to stretch out her thighs. "Don't! I can't go and do this alone!"

Well, summer jobs when they weren't in the territories! And even this summer they might pick up a week or three with a carnival or something when they got back! "Okay, if it runs longer than a summer kidnap me and figure out who brainwashed me!"

"Will do." Dilan promised.

Braig said, "Yeah...you're just not cut out for retail."

"Hey, I could sell stuff if I really wanted!" Aya laughed and poked Braig's side. "What if I wanted to open a store?"

"If you wanted to open a store you'd have a lot more work than just selling things." Braig said, "So you wouldn't get nearly as bored."

"I guess that's fair," she laughed. "But I wouldn't know what to sell so that's not going to happen." She was going to be a cop!

[sliceitwithwind]

"Yeah...and you're going to be an awesome cop." Braig said, petting her again.

"Yeah!" Dilan agreed.

[mitochondriaaya]

"I'll have to get training and beat experience outside of town here, so I'll have to live somewhere else for a while, but then I'll be a cop here!" She'd been researching! It was just what one did when making big decisions! "I promise not to get tempted away by the big cities or anything!"

"Better not." Dilan said, "'Cause then we'd have to move there with you, and that'd kinda suck."

She wrinkled her nose at Dilan and shook her head. "What are you talking about? You guys will move you know. There's no real labs here, and Ansem doesn't live here so you have to be near him!"

"Yeah, but that won't be home because you won't be there." Dilan pointed out.

Braig just nodded.

"But it'll be where you live," duh. "It won't be healthy if you guys don't have a home you can stay at all the time! Home is where you're safe, and where you relax! It's your territory!"

"You're home." Braig said, "Where we'll be living will be our house."

[mitochondriaaya]

Ehhhhh?!"A person isn't a home! And you can't come to me all the time! You guys would go nuts with traveling and lack of sleep!" IT WASN'T HEALTHY FOR THEM!

"Just accept it." Braig said, poking her nose.

"Yeah. It can't really be home without you."

"You guys are going to go crazy!" And they did just fine before Aya was there! They did! "Then I'll go crazy! And we can't get locked up together they segregate asylums!"

"We're not going to go crazy." Braig said.

Dilan snorted, "I am crazy."

[mitochondriaaya]

"You are not crazy!" Aya yelped softly. "You're brilliant and wonderful!"

"And OCD." Dilan pointed out, "Brilliant, wonderful, and OCD."

"Dude. Do we need to have the neuro-atypical talk again?"

"OCD is not crazy!" Yes, it was absolutely necessary to raspberry Dilan's stomach now! MWAHAHAHA!

"ACK!" Dilan flailed, just like he would have when he was a child. The problem being, of course, that he weighed over three hundred and fifty pounds...and the couch could not take the three of them sitting on it and Dilan flailing.

"Oh, man!" Braig said, "Mom loves this couch...she's going to kill us."

Eh, the couch was toast. "My fault! My allowance!" She had to get that out before falling into tickling Dilan properly! Why not? The damage was done, MOVING ON!

Dilan flailed even worse, trying not to kick so that he didn't break anything else. His head pounded into the pillows so hard that Braig grunted every time.

"Yep, still Dilan!" Aya laughed and stopped once she noticed Braig grunting. She ended up sitting on Dilan's chest and holding up her arms in classic muscle pose. "No one outgrows being ticklish! NO ONE!"

"AUUUGH!" Dilan panted and flopped. Braig looked up, "...Time to explain..."

"What happened to my couch?" Elcy asked.

Aya dropped her muscle pose but otherwise didn't move! "My fault! I raspberried Dilan because he was being a dork and then I tickled him because it was broken anyway? I'm sorry! Should I look up new couches or restorationists?" Because it was her fault and she would not let anyone else say otherwise!
