Aya stormed through the door and screamed in rage, kicking her school bag ahead of her because it was safe to kick. Seriously, her backpack wouldn't explode.

"Calm down!" Maya sighed, closing the door behind her sister. "We fixed it. And if you kick that bag anymore you'll have to shopping for a new one. You hate shopping."

"DON'T BE REASONABLE AT ME!"

"OKAY FINE!" Maya grumped and booted her sister's bag back at her. "So what do we do?"

"...COOKIES."

Maya nodded, toeing her shoes off before tackling her sister. "Like you could make cookies in this state!"

"COULD TOO!"

It was a sibling thing okay?

He was nibbling before Maya could stop him, and then both girls were wincing, "you forget the oddest things Dilan. Stay put, I'll go get you some baby carrots or something!"

"Cookie!" Aya noted, holding up her hand for the poor snack that had been mauled with no cause. "And at least we have a barometer for how deeply you're engaged in something?"

"Are you taking notes on Dilan now?" Maya called from the kitchen.

"Why not? He's important."

"Thank you, Maya." Dilan said wryly, "This is interesting." he liked interesting things. A lot. This would be fun! "I like working with you. Both of you." that was to Aya.

"Hey, it's that or run get you a toothbrush," Maya laughed from the kitchen. Carrots were closer? By a little bit!

"I don't like assuming you'll fix things," Aya admitted sheepishly. "I don't want to just assume you can help with everything because you live with us so thank you for this."

He blinked at Aya, "But I like science." was the baffled reminder. He liked messing around with things.

Aya sat up properly and reached to take Dilan's hand, bemused, "Dilan? I know you like science. I know you're good at it. Your friends don't like feeling they'll take advantage of that like for their own ends okay? Like when The ponies took advantage of Rarity's ability to design clothes and didn't think about her feelings? We don't want to do that. I want you to know you're making a big difference potentially and I appreciate it."

"Oh." he said, giving her a sweet, sweet smile, "Thank you, Aya. I like that you care about me that much." he was still going to science the hell out of this problem. Sience it to DEATH. Or life. As long as it did something he'd be happy.

Dear elements they had to get this man in to the company. She didn't want to think about what kind of hell Braig would go through dealing with the other kinds of people who'd want to snag a scientist like Dilan. Granted, then she was snarking at herself, mentally, for trying to list 'kidnapping Dilan' as 'for his and Braig's well being' instead of pure selfishness but hey, that wasn't the important factor right now. And she'd probably been holding his hand too long while she spaced out on that self snarking huh?

"You're welcome, Dilan. And thanks for letting us care okay? But we're going to work really hard to make sure we never take advantage okay? I know that means you'll look at us funny a lot but bear with us okay?"

"You're my friends. I trust you, so I'll try not to give you funny looks." it was simple, and easy, and very, very Dilan. Braig would absolutely agree that the company having his lover was a better idea than anyone else, ever.

"It's okay to give us looks when we deserve it," Aya laughed easily. "Friends can tease and poke at each other too. Promise." Some things had be...elaborated on because cartoons didn't spell everything out entirely!

"Or when you're bored..." Maya called, coming back with some carrots for Dilan. "Or whenever really. You make cute faces sometimes!"

"I'll remember that..." he said, before flushing at being called cute, "Um...thank you?" not quite sure how to process that, but okay. The best option, he thought, was to ignore it as much as possible.

"You're welcome!" Maya offered cheerfully as she passed over the carrots.

"Wicked girl," Aya teased her sister easily. Anyway. "Alright, back to the substrate issue and body neutrality..." Why yes giving Dilan back his firm footing could only be good?

He nodded, face smoothing back out into SCIENCE! mode, and resumed his twisting, curving, flowing water of thought and word.

"Braig's going to kill us..." Maya noted to her sister after a moment or two and idly passing the science brain carrots when his hands were free.

"...yeah. Think we should make an apology dinner?" Aya sighed, working through chemical calculations to pass the man.

Braig came home not long after Dilan entered his science based trance with a, "Medic..." and pained noises. Not enough to snap Dilan out, but he was definitely not happy.

Well, that was a call both girls were trained to answer at least? "Kitchen!" Maya noted, popping up from the floor where she'd been collecting notes to dart upstairs for the kits.

Aya nodded and rose as well, moving to get a shoulder under Braig's arms and head him that way. Given Dilan, well, it was practically up to operating room standards. Plus it had a nice, big central counter. "What happened?"

Braig smiled wryly and gestured to his thigh, which had a fairly significant gouge in it. It was, happily, on the outside of the leg rather than the inside. "PE student with a bad bio-student run in. I got caught up in the after effects of the mutation."

[mitochondriaaya]

"That's not good," Aya noted, slapping the counter, "pants. You want the scissors or shall I?" Because with an unstable mutation type injury they'd need to do some heavy cleaning and have full access to the leg. Last thing anyone wanted was to have someone's pet project jump bodies.

"Full spectrum gene tabs for the blood samples I'm on that too," Maya noted sweeping in.

"You do it." he said, woozily, "I shot myself up with that anti-mutagen that you and Dilan made for me but it's making me really tired."

Dilan pulled himself out of his science trance to look at his lover with a worried expression. Not, however, a panicked one. He trusted the girls to keep his Braig safe and healthy. "What should I do?" he asked.

"That would be the antihistamine base," Aya noted, Maya nodded and started setting things up on the counter by the sink. "Stay awake if you can alright? We may need to ask you things." But that didn't mean she wasn't getting that pant leg taken off post-haste.

"He'll need fluids no matter what, saline and probably a small glucose bag from stores?" Maya directed at Dilan.

"This is tearing and smashing...you get bit?"

"Coffee?" he asked, hopefully, as Dilan sprinted for the required items, "I know it's a diuretic but sweet, sweet caffeine..." Braig started a tapping on the counter to keep himself awake, going up prime numbers as high as he could.

The girls glanced at each other then shrugged in tandem, "As long as you keep the IV in too, hopefully we can stay ahead of the dehydration if you keep the coffee to just a cup or two." As she was closest Maya switched the pot on as a matter of course.

"Tell me exactly kind of mutation this was caused by." Aya prompted, peering at the wounds, "also this will hurt, but as soon as it's clean I can get a a local anesthetic on it." Cleaning anything hurt. Cleaning a wound like this with alcohol? Yeah.

"Just give me one and dilute it with milk and a lot of sugar. A lot of sugar. I've been a student long enough that I can trick my body into thinking it's got more caffeine than it does." He nodded at being told that he was in for some pain. He expected that.

Dilan came back with the things for the IV and handed them to Maya since Aya was busy. "What should I do?" he asked again. Luckily for everyone "just sit quietly" was something that wouldn't bother him.

"Get Braig a cup of coffee fixed with half milk and several sugars, then get me two blood samples, one from the left arm, one from above the wound," Maya noted, preparing a series of small tubes for enzyme testing.

"Definitely have a tooth in here," Aya sighed, switching her swab for forceps. "And goo. Great. No more walking by the PE field okay?"

Dilan nodded and started fixing the cup. He handed it to Braig before going for the blood samples.

"Do you think I'm stupid?" Braig asked, "Hell no was I near the PE field! He was out on the commons between the bio building and the english one."

"Hmm, might be time to get some correctionals kids to play with electric fences..." Maya noted. "Sorry, I mean Justice Track kids." Sure. Right.

"And that at least makes me feel better to hear. Didn't think you were stupid, Braig, just thought you might have a reason to be there. Your classes take you everywhere. Swelling. Awesome. Get comfortable Braig, we're going to have to wait on those blood tests." But he could have a wipe down with a local numbing agent at least?
